Which Seascooter is suitable for me?

The original concept of an underwater Seascooter has changed over the years, we are now seeing a variance in performance, portability and uses.

The Seascooter as we know it was designed with the Diving market in mind, assisting scuba divers with their excursions helping them to reach either depths or distance in a quicker and easier fashion.

Over the past 15 years we have been providing our region with Seascooters we have seen this monumental shift from using the products solely for diving excursions to more recreational use in swimming pools, snorkelling in shallow waters and even freediving, opening up Seascooters to a much bigger demographic and making sure everyone can get in on the fun and get that experience of rushing through the water.

This ultimately asks the question of which Seascooter is right for me?

We get asked this question a lot due to the volume of different products at different price points so we will cover a few different areas in which our range of Seascooters are used.

Recreational Childrens Units

Our Seascooters for children are designed to be used from the age of 4 onwards with supervision whilst the products are in use.

Marlin – Designed for much younger children to experience a slow-paced glide through the water and a confidence booster when it comes to being in the water.

Skipper – A little more powerful and a bigger depth rating for those children who are a bit more confident swimming.

Navigator – The most ideal for any children aged 8+. This unit can be taken in the ocean also, which the others must stick to freshwater environments.

Wavemaker – This unit is our incredibly popular inflatable jet ski, offering a speed of 2mph on the water surface, we most popularly sell these into holiday parks due to their demand!

Recreational Dive Series

This range of Seascooters are designed for affordable fun in the water. They offer good run-times, extended depth ratings and are a great entry into the Seascooter market. We very commonly see these units used for snorkelling, free diving and light scuba diving. Also, a good tool to get from your boat to shore if that’s something that might interest you! These units are also perfect for the entire family, with young confident swimmers these units are likely to get much more frequent use!

Marine 200 – The entry level to the adult Seascooter range.

Marine 250 – The most popular product in the RDS range due to the run time being twice as much as the Marine 200 and only £100 extra in the cost.

Marine 280 & Marine 300 – Only having 90 minutes run time each but providing faster speeds (2.8mph & 3mph respectively).

Professional Dive Series

The Professional Dive Series products could be perceived as more serious diving equipment, but this isn’t always the case! The units have faster speeds, offer deeper depth ratings and more reliable lithium-ion batteries, I will note that the Navtech 3 battery can even be take on a plane in hand luggage, please read our other article to learn more about this, they also have much harder, more durable material than any unit in the RDS range.

All three units are quite similar, the next ones just offer more of a speed advantage and further depth ratings. The Navtech 1 is our flagship unit offering 3 gears with a max speed of 4.35mph and 40m rating.

We sell these units to our holiday park customers due to their durability and performance. If you want more details on these units then please get in touch with us.

Travel / Other

Saving the best till last here! This genre of Seascooter has become immensely popular over the past 2-3 years. Long gone are the days worrying about transporting your Seascooter around the world and it only being a dream of what it would be like to use it when out on your travels. Advanced technology has given us the ability to now have 5mph worth of Seascooter in a smaller form factor with batteries that sit perfectly underneath the allowance for the majority of airlines to take onboard, again please see our article regarding this for more information. With the introduction of these units, we’ve seen smart screens on them to show you more information during your usage, such as remaining battery life, current depth & gear selected.

From Nautica you have the J-Class: 5mph, 40 minutes runtime & 40m depths. This unit introduces a new compact style with folding arms and a gorgeous OLED display.

Other models we love and sell are from Robosea:

Robosea Seaflyer, formerly the Yamaha Seawing II, my personal favourite. This toy screams fun from the first glance. I have been fortunate enough to take this away multiple times on various holidays and it’s always a favourite with friends and family. Again, 5mph speeds with 2 gears and 40 minute run time. These units have intuitive battery compartments making it very easy to swap out to a new battery if you want to double your runtime! Super sleek design and incredibly easy to store.

These units have been most popular due to their recent addition and opening up Seascooters to a completely different market that wasn’t aware they even existed.

If you need any advice of where to go for anything Seascooter related, please give us a call and we can talk through your requirements! Or simply leave us a contact form and we’ll get back to you ASAP.

We are now closed for the Holiday period and will reopen 6th January 2025.
